what is active recall?
Active recall is a powerful study technique that differs from traditional memorization. Instead of passively rereading information, you actively test yourself to retrieve it from your memory. This can be done by answering questions, summarizing information in your own words, or explaining concepts to someone else. By forcing yourself to recall information, you strengthen the connections in your brain and improve your long-term retention. This technique is more effective than simply rereading or highlighting because it engages your brain in a deeper way.
